Margaret Fonshell Ward received her law degree in 1987 from the Georgetown University Law Center, and her undergraduate degree from Loyola College in Baltimore, graduating magna cum laude.  
 
Peggy is an experienced trial attorney admitted in both Maryland and the District of Columbia, and has also defended and tried cases in Virginia, Florida and California.  She has extensive experience in complex insurance coverage litigation, as well as mass torts, insurance defense, industrial products, professional liability, and premises liability. Peggy’s practice also includes considerable commercial litigation and an active commitment to advising businesses of all sizes and types in risk management.  
 
Peggy has been very active in professional and community organizations, serving as a leader in DRI, where she currently sits on the Board of Directors, President of Maryland Defense Counsel, Chair and Executive Committee Member of Lawyers Campaign for CollegeBound, and as an active pro bono contributor to Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service.  She was honored to be named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women for 2005 by the Daily Record, Maryland’s daily legal and business paper.  She has published and lectured extensively on trial and insurance related topics.  Peggy is a dedicated long-distance runner.

Karen M. Herzog graduated from the Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, New York in 1993 after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree cum laude in 1990 from Canisius College in Buffalo. Karen practiced law in western New York for several years, becoming an experienced trial attorney while representing both plaintiffs and defendants.  She then moved to Baltimore, where she has specialized in all aspects in the defense of civil litigation.  
 
Karen is admitted to practice in both Maryland and New York.  She is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance and DRI. Karen aspires to be a dedicated long-distance runner like Peggy, but for now remains a committed short-distance jogger.
